When we are choosing bag filter housing, we also shall consider the nomex filter bags size and quantity. For the nomex filter bags size, the better the larger? Also the filter bags quantity, less is better? What factors will affect the nomex filter bags size?

First is the nomex filter bag length.  The nomex filter bag length depends on the process, dust cleaning efficiency and designing parameter and other related factors. Under the same treating dust or gas flow, same filtering flow and same nomex filter bag diameter, adding nomex filter bags length can make filter area larger, the total required quantity will become lower, then bag housing will take smaller space, the required related accessories quantity in dust cleaning system will also be cut down, such as pulse jet valve, solenoid valves, injection pipe and other parts, so that we can save some running cost.

But in other way, when adding nomex filter bags length, we will have to extend the height of compartment of dust collector bag housing, that means we will have to change the dust bag housing, so extra big cost will occur.

From the point of pulse injection, the bigger length nomex filter bags will need larger power. When the power is larger, the nomex filter bag ends which is close to pulse injection will be damaged more easily, when the injection power is too large, the thread at the nomex filter bags top will break easily. During the bag filter  is at on line dust cleaning mode, when the nomex filter bag is longer, the dust will return back to dust filter bag surface more easily. During the bag filter is at off line dust cleaning mode, when the nomex filter bag is longer, the pause time will be longer, it means that it will take long time for separate compartment to return to normal filtration.

Considering the nomex filter bags installation, maintenance and inspection, adding length of nomex filter bags will take difficulty for these jobs.

If the nomex filter bags length is not so long or too short, then the filter area will be not enough, this will affect the dust collection efficiency, then the quantity of filter bag will have to be added, investing cost will be added as well. At present, for small and middle size dust collector bag filter housing, nomex filter bag length is 2-3m, for large size of dust collector bag filter housing, nomex filter bag length is 4-6m.

Secondly, we shall consider the diameter of nomex filter bags. The diameter of nomex filter bags has relationship of bag length, filtration flow, pulse injection power and pulse valve’s layout. The common diameter of nomex filter bags is from 120 to 152mm.
